The unique, futuristic historic Royal has been reborn by fusing 1930's character with the latest in technology and design, creating an experience that will transport guests through time. The Royal was was built by a former Zeigfield Follies showgirl and designed by Miami Beach's two most renowned Art Deco architects. Henry Hohauser designed the ground floor in 1936 and the second and third floor hotel addition designed by L. Murray Dixon was completed in 1938. The unique look of the newly restored Royal is the masterful vision of famed designer Jordan Mozer.
Each of 42 brightly colored rooms of the Royal features a modular queen sized "floating" bed with a head board that doubles as a bar, a "digital" throne, as well as Italian marble floors and new tiled bathrooms.
The Royal Hotel has created an atmosphere that is as much about comfort and convenience as it is about style. When you enter our hotel you will be surrounded by expressive decor and style that serve as both a compliment and an innovative contrast to the original deco style of the building. The reception lobby on Pennsylvania Avenue is graced with intriguing surrealistic art. The Royal is featured in "The Best Designed Hotels in North & South America," "Fodor's" and "Cool Hotels" by Paco Asensio.
Located on Washington Avenue @ 8th Street, the Royal is central to everything the Art Deco District has to offer. Guests can enjoy on-site eateries and shops including the Royal Cigar Bar and Lounge in the hotel's lobby, Paesano's Italian Ristorante, and Origin Asian Bistro and Sushi Bar.
